The club’s 15th annual exhibition was held on Saturday 9th October at Christ Church Hall, Shooters Hill.
Although things did not look too promising to start with, the public eventually began drifting in and overall we had quite a reasonable attendance, though somewhat down on last year [it was about 250 — Editor]. It was noticeable that a good many people stayed for quite a long time, showing great interest in the models on display.

I was very pleased (not to say relieved!) that so many members brought models for display, making a really good show, with all available space well filled. Dealers John Longbon and John Linder were in attendance, with a wide range of new and second-hand sets and spares on sale.

I regret I did not keep a record of who attended with what models (some of you did not return your slips anyway!). But I recall that the following members all brought at least one model: Jim Arthur, Adrian Ashford, Stan Bedford, Geoff Carter, Peter Clay, Andrew Couzens, Geoff Davison, Melvyn Down, John Gay, Paul Heather, Eric Humphries, Robin Lake, Les Maher, Francis Paine, Keith Patey, Nigel and Martin Pope, David Smithers, Tim Surtell, Chris Warrell, guest Len Spink and former member Eddie Oatley. My grateful thanks to all those who exhibited; my apologies to anybody I’ve missed.

Refreshments were provided, as usual, by the Christ Church Hall & Social Committee, who gave an excellent service and kept everyone well supplied throughout the day.
