Firstly, apologies to Andrew Couzens who wrote a short report of this show, which I managed to lose, but had left it too late to do anything about. I got some notes from Alan Wenbourne — Ed.

This event was the Medway Model Show and Bridge Study Centre Open Weekend which took place on Saturday 1 – Sunday 2 September at the Royal Engineers Museum in Gillingham. Alan Wenbourne had arranged the Meccano part of the show, at the invitation of the Medway Modelling Club, and four members from SELMEC attended. The display was in the shadow of the Museum’s military vehicles and artefacts.

The attendance was average for this event but worthwhile. They held an interesting talk about Bailey-type bridges this time, in a separate building displaying various types of bridge construction.

Along with Alan were Tim Surtell, Andrew Couzens and Chris Fry, all with a good display of models.
