The London Underground Map Secretary’s Challenge
This Challenge took place at our April 2017 Meeting
This was our third ‘Big Challenge’. The first one, in 2013, was to build trains to run on O gauge track; the second, in 2015, was to construct a model village.
The Challenge was to build a large portion of the London Underground map.
Our Secretary divided the map up into squares, so that each member who took part constructed their own section, the idea being that they could be joined up at the Easter meeting. The squares were be 12½” across, and each line on the map was to be a standard Perforated Strip in, hopefully, the correct colour for the Underground line in question.
Lego built their own map in 2013 to celebrate the 150th anniversary of the London Underground — could we do better?
