Nuclear Flask Railway Wagon
Built by Chris Warrell in April 2016 for the Nuclear Power Secretary’s Challenge
On gauge 1 track. General outline of model taken from online photos, so only approximately to a scale of 10mm to 1 foot.
These vehicles are used to transport spent nuclear fuel rods from power stations to Sellafield for processing. They are often in a train with a barrier vehicle either side of the flask wagon and topped and tailed with a diesel locomotive, often class 20.
I hope to construct other vehicles to make a train, probably with just the one loco!
