2–4–2 Tank Locomotive
Built by Adrian Ashford in June 2018
This model was inspired by an article in the May 2018 issue of Hornby Magazine about adding extras to a Bachman 4mm scale model of an ex-Lancashire and Yorkshire Railway locomotive of this wheel arrangement.
A number of the pre-grouping railways built locomotives of this type for use on passenger trains, because as they had a virtually symmetrical wheel-base, they could run equally well in either direction.
This model, built to approximately ½” scale, is intended to be representative of a locomotive of this type, as it is too small to reproduce the characteristic features of any one particular type.
