Jumbo Crane
Built by Adrian Ashford in June 2006 for the 1976 Manual Models Secretary’s Challenge
This model was built from instructions given in the July 1976 edition of Meccano Magazine.
It was built from the contents of a 1970s № 5 set. Only very minor modifications have been made, the chief one being mounting all the 4 road wheels, used for the front wheels, loosely on the front axle, otherwise it would be virtually impossible to steer the model with a rigid front axle!
Red/green parts are used, as I do not have blue/yellow/zinc parts , which would have been authentic.
