Mars Rover

This is a model of the Mars Rover from the 2015 film The Martian.
It is a four-wheel drive, four-wheel steer vehicle with geared motors at each wheel, is radio controlled and has frontal LED lighting.
The model features four wheel drive with geared electric motors at the wheels and four wheel steering by remote control. The suspension emulates the actual vehicles 18” wheel jounce of one inch at 1:6 scale.
The 27:1 geared motor shafts are adapted to 10mm diameter to suit 4½” R/C model wheels and tyres which are secured with M10 domed wheel nuts. Replicated at the rear are the fuel cell generators and solar cell panels. .
Amidships is the rechargeable battery pack, electronic speed controller and radio receiver.
The actual vehicle has a Hiab type crane and tows a trailer, which may be added later.
