Meccanograph

This was originally built for the 2011 Kew Bridge Steam Museum’s Magic of Meccano Show as a Konkoly “Easter Egg” Meccanograph and converted to a conventional machine with turntable for the 2011 Royal Artillery Museum exhibition. I was so pleased with it that I am keeping it and extending its possibilities.

The table revolves on an Ashok large-diameter ball bearing which gives it its accuracy. It is powered by 6-speed PDU from Temsi. The pens are from a packet purchased from Woolworths (remember them?) which were cheap and came in a wide variety of colours. Either guilloche or star designs can be made. A variety of these were shown. The trade-off is a) its weight and b) the amount of brassware it has absorbed.
