Radio Controlled Electric Car

This model is of my own design and build and started as a project in 1991 to find out whether commercial radio control systems were compatible with the Meccano system. A number of experiments followed, this model being the latest offering.

The model uses a two channel system to control the steering and the vehicle’s speed via an on-board wire-wound controller. The gearing selected gives a top speed of about 5mph. The batteries used give around 45 minutes run time on this model.

Hi Brian. Nice one. I am still at the chassis stage but would like to have a go at installing a RC. I have installed the standard 4.5 — 6.0V motors so far but need to source the control equipment — could you point me in the right direction please.
