Raised Jib Crane
Built by Brian Elvidge in June 2008
This model is copied from the French copies of the 1937 manuals from the website of Remi Lanne in France.
Chris, our Exhibition Officer, built a version of this model and showed it at previous meetings and at the Kew Bridge Steam Museum Magic of Meccano Show. This is my version of this crane using a E15R motor and a simple superstructure as in the manual.
The cordage in my model has been changed (as in Chris’s model) to slow the reeving of the cord. It has no jib luffing, but has a ball race turntable, as Chris suggested to me.
