Rocket and Launch Pad
Built by Geoff Carter in March 2008 for the Braced Girders Secretary’s Challenge
From the Space Centre set. This has a white rocket, with black trim, and a tower made from bright red braced girders and looks to be a very attractive model — from a distance!
However, it is not well designed — it being difficult to make the rocket body truly circular and, viewed from above, there is a large gap where the diameter is reduced. On the plus side, you get 8 braced girders and 3 matt black 5 x 11-hole flanged plates. Also 3 white boilers, if you can find a use for them!
