Spitfire Aeroplane
Built by Dick Watson in October 2006
From a Marks & Spencer kit — perhaps the first model that I have made from nearly 60 years using only the parts in the set and following the instructions fairly closely.
The Spitfire is displayed on a turntable driven by an intermittent motion sourced from a “Spanner” contribution. It turns the model approximately 1/8 of a turn at a time.
The mechanism has the advantage over most others by keeping the Spitfire fixed in place when stationary instead of free to turn.
