Telescope and Tripod

This model was inspired by some discussion on Spanner II of a simplicity model digital camera by (I think) Greg Webb. Someone commented that it needed a tripod. Having some interest in astronomy I thought a simple telescope and tripod would make an interesting small model.

The tripod relies on a 3-hole aero-collar for locating the bracing bars, and is free to slide on the central rod so that it can be folded down. At the foot of each leg a pivot rod socket (179a) is used.

The black hood at the skyward end of the ‘scope is a small plastic cylinder from the concorde kit (part A545) and is held in place internally by a small rubber pulley expanded by a bolt.

The telescope mount-rings are simulated by aero tyres.
