TF Green Line Coach
Built by Adrian Ashford in March 2015
This is actually a rebuild of a model I originally built in 1975 (before SELMEC was formed!) It is modelled as accurately as possible on the pre-war London Transport TF type single-deckers, which were used as replacements for older vehicles on Green Line Coach services in the late 1930s. It was in fact the first vehicle of its kind to have an under-floor engine. I originally built it as a companion to the TD type bus featured in Model Plan 86 — there is in fact a photo of it on the back cover. Both models were shown together in the October 1975 Meccano Magazine Quarterly feature about that year’s Henley Exhibition. The model has leaf-spring suspension, using Narrow Strips, but I have yet to install the motor and gear-box as per the original model.
