Traction Engine
Built by Brian Elvidge in September 2008
The model uses some elements of the late Phil Bradley’s model (see GMM Modelplan № 5 — Road Locomotive).
When my model was designed in 1985, the idea was to design out the unsightly scale features of the pre-war Super Model 22.
This model uses scale width, and has a modern high-efficiency motor in the firebox — this is a change from the Power Drive Motor used originally.
It features a working winch drum, a hand brake, a differential, two-speed road gears, and a centrally suspended front axle, giving suspension.
