Beam Engine

This model was designed by Andreas Konkoly and was taken from the model plan volumes by Nick Rodgers and Pete Wood, published by the Runnymede Meccano Guild.
It is a relatively simple model to construct and builds well from the notes provided. I have used modellers licence to modify the model, with a different motor drive system implemented and the omission of some of the details like hand rails and a platform.
The model runs very well, though it does need certain beefing up in places, notably the main bearings.
It has parallel link motion to the piston, a nice flywheel and other detail.
