Volk’s Railway
Built by Guy Loveridge in September 2015
Volk’s Electric Railway, to give it its full name, is the oldest operating electric railway in the world, and today it exists as a heritage railway. The model is built to a scale of 1:12 and has 9.5 feet of track plus a platform at each end. The third rail and the pick up are bolted to plastic plates, so no special parts are needed for insulation. The pick up is made from two Socket Couplings, so no non Meccano parts are used.
