Concrete Mixer Lorry

With the slowly turning mixer, this lorry is a good model for model shows. However this is not a common model in Meccano, probably because there are a few problems to solve:

  1. The conical shape of the mixer is difficult to make with Meccano parts.
  2. The mixer has to turn at an angle.
  3. The back of the mixer is open, so it cannot turn on a central rod.

There is a solution to your issue building the drum of your truck mixer model. Howard Somerville has a Modelplan № 247 of just such a model which you could adapt. The plan is available at £7.00 from MW Mail Order. You could use your own lorry chassis.
