“Lunokhod 2” Lunar Rover
Built by Chris Warrell in June 2016 for the Space Exploration Secretary’s Challenge
A moon rover, based on a Russian design from 1973 (when it was the USSR). They successfully launched two of these vehicles onto the surface of the moon. They were operated remotely from Earth, traversing many miles, and sending thousands of images of the lunar surface.
An engineering model of the rover was shown at the 2016 Cosmonauts exhibition at the Science Museum in London.
