Variable Capacitor
Built by Brian Burke in November 2022 for the BBC Centenary Secretary’s Challenge
After seeing a presentation on YouTube about building a variable capacitor, I thought the same thing might be possible with Meccano and Erector parts. It uses eight part 214 Semi-circular Plates from Meccano, nine ME plates (4½” x 1½”), and eight Erector pierced disks to build a prototype.
I don’t have a crystal set to check to see if it works, but that might be next!
