Scammell Townsman Mechanical Horse

The Townsman was the last of Scammell’s mechanical horses, built in 1964. It had an all-fibreglass body and more comfort for the driver, although the seat was fixed and you could adjust the steering wheel and pedals to suit.
You can still see some working on the Isle of Man doing light delivery work around Douglas Harbour and other places around the island.
