Burrell Showman’s Engine
Built by Donald Overall in September 2001
A 1920-vintage Burrell Showman’s Engine, driven by a windscreen-wiper motor, with the steering driven by a sewing machine motor.
One of the design problems was the rear axle — the standard Meccano axle rod not being long enough or man enough to do the job. So much power is needed to drive this model, that flats had to be fitted on all drive axles.
The model is not quite finished.
