Electric Crane with Elevated Jib
Built by Chris Warrell in March 2008 for the Braced Girders Secretary’s Challenge
A crane in blue/gold from a 1930s Set C. It was taken from a French instruction leaflet (obtained from a website and printed off). It is model C25 Grue Electrique Flche Surleve which translates as Electric Crane with Elevated Jib. It has been modified to give a more stable base, better turntable, pulley block, and alterations due to E15R motor being used instead of the E20R.
A 5½” long girder, built up using a pair of double braced girders and four angle girders, hangs from the hook by two short lengths of sprocket chain. This was added as an afterthought to qualify the model for inclusion as a Secretary’s Challenge!
