Electric Lorry and Trailer
Built by Brian Elvidge in June 2007
This model is described in the Set 6 manual for 1954 and uses a few obsolete parts the builder does not possess.
A certain amount of rebuilding has had to be done — the 2½” plastic road wheels used are larger than the tin road wheels used in 1954, and the trailer wheels use 2” pulleys and tyres to prevent marking of floors etc.
An auto-uncoupling device has been left out as the builder could not make it work reliably.
In all, a reasonable model, let down by a poor steering system, here modified. Also needed strengthening in the cab structure, due to the builder not having a half hinged plate either.
Good play value.
