Fairground Roundabout

A favourite model of its day, this modified SML 8 roundabout is designed to use the Geared Roller Bearing as its base and part of the superstructure of the model. It is driven by a classic E15R Meccano Motor through a chain of gears and a chain.

The roundabout itself only has four stations — two prancing horses and two revolving cars — driven by a modified gearing system in the top of the superstructure.

It is about one inch larger than that illustrated in the literature to make construction less difficult.

Hi Brian,

Do you know what issue this roundabout was first shown in? I thought it was in April 1927 but I was wrong. Great photo you have of it!
