1927 Automobile
Built by Brian Elvidge in June 2007
This model is taken from The Meccano System Volume 6 by Bert Love and Jim Gamble, New Cavendish 1986, colour page 313, The Nickel Period. This can also be found in the 1930–35 set 5 manuals.
It is shown here in 1970s colours with spoked wheels and is driven by a post war № 1 clockwork motor. The front wheels steer by a redimentary mechanism of the cart type, typical of the period. The bonnet is rebuilt as the short sector plates are no longer available.
In all, a very good attempt at an early two seater car; works well.
