Hunslet Narrow Gauge Locomotive
Built by Chris Warrell in April 2013 for the Hornby O Gauge Trains Secretary’s Challenge
This model runs on O gauge track, which I think is 7mm to 1 foot, but this model, being narrow gauge, is 16mm to 1 foot with the 32mm track being equivalent to 2 foot gauge. The model is 3½” wide.
The locomotive is an 0–6–0 saddle tank engine, originally built for the Groby Granite Co. of Leicester in 1909. Details of the model came from a reproduction of pages from the Hunslet catalogue (Platewat Press).
It is powered by a PDU and picks up power from the centre rail.
The black plates have come mainly from the Meccano Hudson locomotive set.
I ran out of time to model the cylinders.
