This was one of our informal quarterly meetings where our members showed off their latest Meccano creations.
Report written by Peter Clay
Visitors’ attendance at this exhibition was well in excess of 1987, with 263 adults and 228 children attending. The whole event went off very well and this was due in no small part to the work done by Chris Warrell in organising and supervising the event both in advance and on the day. The hall was packed with a wide selection of models appealing to all ages and tastes, and the auxiliary room containing dealers was well patronised by members and visitors. A video was made of the event and may well still be available. Credit is also due to Ralph Laughton who helped organise and ‘stage manage’ the day, and to Mrs. Jean Warrell and her team who provided the essential refreshments.
Unfortunately Robin Lake’s report of models exhibited went astray in the post, and so I am unable to include this.
