In 2016 the South East London Meccano Club celebrated its 40th anniversary, so our annual promotional display at the Eltham Centre included a wrap-around backscene on the middle shelf featuring a selection of photographs taken over the years at club events, along with a video promoting the 2016 Meccano Show.
Working models, which members of the public could activate by placing their hand over a sensor behind the glass, were a printing press built by John Gay (printing out miniature Meccano Show posters!), an automatic lift mechanism built by Brian Leach, and a windmill pump built by Adrian Ashford.
