Railway Brake Wagon
Built by Richard Marsden in January 2013 for the Hornby O Gauge Trains Secretary’s Challenge
Built to test O Gauge compatibility for the April 2013 Secretary’s Challenge, with no attempt made to match the colours of the parts used; as a result it looks rather like something out of a circus train. For scale, the frames are 2” apart, with 5-hole 2” strips used as the cross members. This allows the chassis to be centred under the 2½” body, although it must be spaced slightly from it to leave room for some protruding bolt heads on the underside of the body. The model runs on small flanged wheels, and there is plenty of room to adjust for gauge.
