Variable Speed Drive Mechanism

This is a model demonstrating a continuously variable ratio drive.
I have driven it with a Meccano clockwork motor so as to show the varying speeds are down to the CVR drive and not motor speed.
The centrifugal governor is purely to demonstrate the speed change on the output shaft and is not part of the CVR drive itself.

This older model has had its clockwork motor replaced by an old Meccano ‘golf ball’ motor (see last photo).
