Footbridge

I suppose this model is the very opposite of the Secretary’s Challenge for this meeting (September 2024). That Challenge was to build a model from the last page of the parts list, which is somewhat heavy on exotic parts. My collection is rather more ‘first page’. The footbridge was fun to build, though, and uses more parts than you might imagine, particularly the steps themselves. The only vaguely unusual parts are the braced girders. I suspect it’s not a very common choice of subject either. I built it to about the same scale as my 4–4–0 locomotive, in that the locomotive will just pass under it without losing its funnel.

Nice model. Brings back childhood memories of my local station footbridge at Maidstone West.
