Tackling one of our restricted-parts Challenges reminds me how inventive and creative Hubert Lansley was in designing the models for the Meccano manuals and the Magazine. In most cases, he had only a small number of each of the simplest parts in the system to work with. We have usually been allowed to use advanced parts, and in any quantity, more than you would find in most sets. Oh dear, have I just put another idea into the Secretary’s head?
