Giraffe
Built by Richard Marsden in March 2026 for the Zoo Secretary’s Challenge
Meet Gerald the giraffe. He’s looking confused. According to Wikipedia his species is endangered; numbers have dropped 40% in 30 years. However when he took a trip in south-east London recently, he saw four other giraffes. Mind you, he didn’t speak to them because they were from different sub-species. It takes an expert human to tell one from another, but giraffes manage it quite easily, and it’s a bit like the Montagues and Capulets: they don’t get on. So Juliet, despite the alliteration, would probably not be a suitable name for a lady giraffe.
