Fighter Plane
Built by Richard Marsden in March 2026
This isn’t a Meccano model. It’s from the ‘Gift in a Tin’ range. Many of the parts look like direct copies of Meccano though. The nuts and bolts are M4, and regular readers might know I’m rather fond of these.
My Grandson won one of these models at our 2025 exhibition, and I was volunteered to help him put it together. I was sufficiently impressed by its simplicity of construction and the prospect of re-using the parts that I bought one for myself.
I do notice one odd feature though — the engine appears to be in the nose of the fuselage, but the propellers are out on the wings. Never mind!
