Gyrocycle

Model bicycle inspired by a 1950s Tri-Ang toy known as a GyroCycle. Like the original, this model has a heavy disc spinning inside its front wheel. Spun up by an external motor, the spinning disk drives the front wheel of the bicycle so that it “rides” itself across the floor keeping perfectly upright and looking rather surreal.

Hello Les, I love doing homemade small radio control motorcycles with homemade gyro out of washers with a separate motor beside the rear wheel. Do you think the gyro effect will work if i now put the washer gyro at the front wheel? As i can see, the bicycle design from 1936 is actually pulling the whole bike assembly somehow eliminating the rake angle required on a radio control motorcycle, the forward motion is generated by the front wheel. Thanks.
