The Girder Frame Secretary’s Challenge
This Challenge took place at our September 2012 Meeting
This Challenge was to build a model incorporating any number of an unusual and little used Meccano part: the Girder Frame, part 113, plus no more than 113 other parts, including nuts, bolts and washers.
The Girder Frame was introduced in 1919 and appeared in the Inventor’s Outfit of 1920, but it was rarely included in any regular Meccano outfits. Despite this, it somehow remained in production at Binns Road more or less up to the closure of the factory in 1979.
